Free agent pitchers agree to minor-league contracts with L.A.
The Dodgers agreed to minor-league contracts with free agent pitchers Kevin Gregg and Mark Lowe.
Gregg, a 34-year-old right-hander, was 3-2 with a 4.95 ERA last year with Baltimore, his fifth organization, before being released in September. Gregg has 144 career saves, including 37 with Toronto in 2010.
Lowe, a 29-year-old right-hander, was 0-2 with a 3.43 ERA in 36 relief appearances for the Texas Rangers last year.
They will compete for a job in a bullpen featuring closer Brandon League, setup men Kenley Jansen and Ronald Belisario, situational left-hander J.P. Howell and Matt Guerrier, Javy Guerra, Shawn Tolleson, Paco Rodriguez, Stephen Fife and Josh Wall.
In addition, if the top five starting pitchers are healthy there isn't room for Chris Capuano, Aaron Harang and Ted Lilly.
The number of the Dodgers' non-roster invitees is now 19.
