Poll: President Obama, Gov. Walker Approval Ratings Slip in Wis.

Approval ratings for Gov. Scott Walker and President Barack Obama have slipped among Wisconsin voters, according to a new poll from Marquette Law School.

Gov. Walker's approval rating in July is 48 percent, with 46 percent disapproving of the job he's doing in office.? In May, the Governor's rating was 51-45 percent, in March it was 50-44.

Marquette pollsters say the Governor's approval rating has been between 50 and 51 percent since the recall election last June.

Meanwhile, President Obama's job approval in July is 47 percent with 46 percent of voters disapproving of the job he's doing in office.

In May, it was 50-45 percent, and in March it was 48-45.

Here's a further breakdown of the numbers:

• 34 percent approve of Pres. Obama and disapprove of Gov. Walker
• 36 percent disapprove of Pres. Obama and approve of Gov. Walker
• 11 percent approve of both
• 9 percent disapprove of both
• 10 percent had no opinion

Partisanship:

• Democrats approve of Pres. Obama by 90-8 margin
  
• Republicans approve of Gov. Walker by 81-12
  
• Republicans disapprove of Obama by 10-86
• Democrats disapprove of Walker by 12-82

President Obama Regional Stats:

• City of Milwaukee - 71 percent approval
  
• Madison - 54 percent approval
  
• Northern/Western Wis. - 42 percent approval
  
• Green Bay-Appleton - 42 percent approval
  
• Milwaukee region outside city - 41 percent approval
  

Gov. Walker Regional Stats:

• Northern/Western Wis. - 56 percent approval
• Green Bay/Appleton - 55 percent approval
  
• Milwaukee region outside city - 52 percent approval
  
• Madison - 36 percent approval
• City of Milwaukee - 30 percent approval

By Gender:

• Women give President Obama a 51-42 percent approval-disapproval rating
• Men give President Obama a 43-51 percent approval-disapproval rating
• Women give Gov. Walker a 43-52 percent approval-disapproval rating
• Men give Gov. Walker a 54-39 percent approval-disapproval rating

The telephone poll interviewed 713 registered Wisconsin voters from July 15-18.? The margin of error is +/- 3.7 percentage points.
