The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck between Guam and Japan at 8:44 a.m. Friday Hawaii time.
The early Saturday morning earthquake had an epicenter 465 miles northwest of Saipan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.? The epicenter had a depth of more than 160 miles.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
